However, if you travel a longer route, you need to add one peso to three pesos to your fare.
Most people have rode in a jeepney one time or another, even people from society’s upper crust. The jeepney symbolizes Filipino ingenuity, practicality, and sense of art. Since the jeepney is everywhere in the Philippines, it is also one reason why traffic is so heavy in some parts of the city. Nevertheless, drivers should be allowed to drive the jeepney for its convenience and for its relatively cheap fare. So that commuters will have safer and more comfortable rides, the government has taken measures to penalize reckless driving.
There is a limit to the comfort of riding a jeepney, however. Sometimes, the jeepney can be packed with passengers, and you can hear the noise from outside as well as from within it; when the weather is hot, you will get to feel the heat. And because the driver picks up passengers from almost everywhere, the jeepney will stop as often as there are passengers wanting to ride and there is still some space for them inside.
